Alpha Sigma Alpha Chapter

Chapter History

The Alpha Sigma Alpha Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. was originally founded in 1996 by six young male students on the campus of UAHuntsville. After a heart-throbbing attempt to see the growth of another fraternity on the campus, the chapter ceased to become noted by the campus community.  They are known within the chapter as "The 96' Six".

However, ten years later, three young men, Bro. Donald Jones, Bro, J.T. Lawson, and Bro. Reggious Bell decided to embark on a journey to resurrect a chapter that had once been counted out. With the help of Bro. Curtis Helton the following year, the Alpha Sigma Alpha Chapter was formally recognized on the campus of UAHuntsville. Since then, the chapter has received numerous awards, including the "Highest Chapter GPA" award and many growth and reporting recognition on the State, Regional and even National level.

It was also through the efforts of the Alpha Sigma Alpha chapter that our constitutionally bound sister organization, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. was able to charter a chapter at UAH. The Omega Tau chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. was founded in 2012 with 5 initiates.
